Police in MIMAROPA region arrested three wanted persons Thursday, including one of Oriental Mindoro province’s most wanted criminals, in a coordinated anti-crime operation.

The suspect, identified only as “Raniel”, 42, was arrested in San Teodoro town and is the third most wanted person in Oriental Mindoro, according to Police Brigadier General Roger Quesada, MIMAROPA regional director.

Police said Raniel faces multiple non-bailable charges including statutory rape, acts of lasciviousness involving minors, and drug-related offenses under the country’s Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

The operation, carried out by San Teodoro police and regional mobile forces, also led to the arrest of two other wanted persons – a 27-year-old man wanted for theft and a 45-year-old man facing attempted murder charges.

All three suspects are in police custody awaiting court proceedings.
