The municipality of Mansalay in Oriental Mindoro is gearing up to host the Kress Cup 2024 National Championship, a premier boat racing event that will bring together top racers from across the country.
The five-day competition, scheduled for Dec. 8-12, 2024, at the Mansalay Fishport, will feature two categories: the Bostik Drag Race and the Kress Circuit Race.
The event is expected to draw more than 24 teams and over 100 racing boats, all vying for a spot in the history books as the next Kress Cup National Champion.
The Kress Cup 2024 National Championship is organized by Kress Philippines in partnership with several sponsors, including BOSTIK El Kapitan Marine Epoxy, KTEC, Dartek Philippines, Ecooter Philippines, Wespro, Shimge, and Adelino.
The event promises to be the biggest and most prestigious boat racing competition in the country, with generous prizes at stake.
The Bostik Drag Race will offer a top prize of P500,000 pesos, while the Kress Circuit Race will award a champion’s prize of P1 million pesos.
The prizes for each category are as follows:
Bostik Drag Race:
- Champion: P500,000
- Second place: P300,000
- Third place: P200,000
Kress Circuit Race: - Champion: P1 million
- Second place: P500,000
- Third place: P250,000
Mansalay Mayor Ferdinand M. Maliwanag, in a Facebook post, expressed his gratitude to the event organizers for bringing the competition to his town, citing it as an opportunity to showcase the town’s culture and support for sports tourism.
The event will kick off with a grand parade and opening ceremony on Dec. 8, 2024, which will be broadcast live on the official Facebook page.
