The Mindoro Tamaraws of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) announced open tryouts for their 2025 season roster.

The two-day tryouts will be held on January 8-9, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the AYSN Sports Center on P. Tuazon Boulevard, Quezon City.

Coach Rodney Santos will oversee the selection process. Prospects must be at least 18 years old and are required to bring both light and dark jerseys to the tryouts.

The Tamaraws, representing Mindoro provinces, are supported by Pola Mayor Jennifer Cruz’s sports development program.

MPBL is now one of the country’s major basketball leagues, featuring teams from various provinces and cities across the country.

Unlike the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), the league has served as a platform for emerging basketball talent and has helped develop players for both domestic and international competitions since its founding.

For more information about the tryouts, interested players can contact the Mindoro Tamaraws organization directly.
