Free Moira Concert to Mark Oriental Mindoro’s 74th Anniversary

CALAPAN CITY — A free concert featuring Filipino singer Moira and ten local bands will headline the 74th Oriental Mindoro Foundation Anniversary celebrations on November 15, 2024 at 6:00 PM.

The “#IGKo” street party will utilize three stages across the city.

Stage 1 at the Provincial Capitol Grounds will showcase Kids Can Tell, Fipsi Band, Hulo Band, IZay Band, and Moira.

Stage 2 along Gov. Ignacio Street will feature No Days Off Band, New Kids Band, and Uplifter.

Stage 3 on J.P. Rizal Street will host 5 Strings, RPMC Band, and Mayora Juana.

The event, which includes a fireworks display, is part of the province’s founding anniversary celebrations.

The concert is being organized by the provincial government of Oriental Mindoro in partnership with various tourism organizations.

All performances are free to the public. The celebrations will take place across multiple locations in Camilmil, Calapan City.

Bernardo Creative Ventures, Inc., the company behind Direk Fuels, Oriental Mindoro’s homegrown gas station chain, and Direk Builders, which rents out heavy equipment, is expanding its portfolio by venturing into online media and content production.

The company’s entry into news media is not surprising, as its founder and CEO, Romel “Direk” Bernardo, was a television writer, producer, and director for over 15 years. From 2002 to 2007, he served as a researcher, writer, and producer for GMA-7’s top-rating show Imbestigador before becoming the executive producer for ABS-CBN’s award-winning documentary program, The Correspondents.
