Three prominent politicians in Oriental Mindoro are running unopposed in the upcoming 2025 Philippine Midterm Elections, COMELEC officials confirmed Wednesday.
Representative Arnan C. Panaligan of Oriental Mindoro’s First District will secure his second term unopposed.
Supporters cite his efficient leadership and suggest that mounting an opposition campaign would be financially impractical given his strong track record of public service.
In the municipality of Pola, incumbent Mayor Jennifer M. Cruz will serve her third and final term without challengers.
Sources indicate she is likely to be nominated as the next President of the League of Municipalities, Oriental Mindoro Chapter, due to her extensive network and strong relationships with fellow LGU executives.
Meanwhile, in Puerto Galera, outgoing Mayor Rocky Ilagan will transition unopposed to the position of Vice Mayor.
Ilagan is completing his final mayoral term in 2025.
The unopposed status of these candidates suggests a strong voter confidence in their leadership capabilities, political analysts say.
