CALAPAN CITY – Governor Bonz Dolor of Oriental Mindoro, serving as the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) Council Chairperson, presented sashes and medals to new Eagle Scouts during a ceremony at the provincial capitol’s Tamaraw Hall on Thursday.
Following the formal declaration of the national court of honor, 57 senior scouts were conferred the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest honor achievable, based on their skills, leadership, and character.
Additionally, 45 Boy Scouts received the Venturer honor, 24 were recognized as Eagle Scout Bronze Anahaw Awardees, and three as Eagle Scout Silver Anahaw Awardees.
Guest speaker Emerson Kim J. Lineses, a former Eagle Scout and current employee at NEDA MIMAROPA, stressed the lifelong relevance of scout principles.
“Scouts oath and laws are tenets for life. Live by the scouts principle and you will never go wrong in your life,” Lineses said.
Governor Dolor expressed his pride in the achievements of the Eagle Scouts.
The governor also announced that before the year ends, the BSP headquarters will move to its new office in Brgy. Sta. Isabel, Calapan City, adjacent to the Oriental Mindoro Provincial Hospital.
He added that in the coming years, a BSP gymnasium, training center, and dormitory will be constructed.
Furthermore, the development of a BSP and Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) campsite on a two-hectare land in Brgy. Cabalwa, Mansalay is already underway.
Governor Dolor, along with BSP Council Scout Executive Babylyn M. Pomarejos, presented certificates of appreciation to outfit advisers and institutional heads of schools with honored scouts.
