OCCIDENTAL MINDORO: A 36-year-old man suspected of selling illegal drugs was arrested in a buy-bust operation by the Municipal Drug Enforcement Unit of Lubang MPS early Sunday morning.

The suspect, known only by his alias “Ed,” was caught after authorities posing as buyers purchased a packet of suspected shabu from him for P1,000. A search of the suspect yielded another packet of suspected shabu weighing 0.2 grams with an estimated street value of P1,000, as well as the marked money used in the transaction.

The suspect is currently being held at the Lubang MPS and will be charged with violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The arrest was the result of a joint effort between the police and the community, led by Provincial Director PCOL Timoteo L. Espiritu Jr. of the Occidental Mindoro Police Provincial Office, to intensify the campaign against illegal drugs in the province.

In a separate operation, a 28-year-old woman suspected of selling illegal drugs was arrested in Magsaysay, Occidental Mindoro, on Saturday evening.

The suspect, known only by her alias “Tsokoy,” was caught after authorities posing as buyers purchased suspected drugs from her for P1,000. A search of the suspect yielded two plastic sachets of suspected drugs and the marked money used in the transaction.

The evidence was marked in the presence of witnesses before being sent to the Occidental Mindoro Provincial Forensic Unit for examination. The suspect is currently being held at the Magsaysay MPS and will be charged with violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
