Philippine police have arrested a South Korean fugitive wanted under an Interpol Red Notice in Puerto Galera, authorities said.
The 61-year-old Korean national was apprehended in Barangay Sabang, Puerto Galera, in Oriental Mindoro province, following a joint operation by the Philippine National Police (PNP), the Bureau of Immigration’s Fugitive Search Unit, and local police.
The suspect is the subject of an Interpol Red Notice issued on September 30, 2025, in connection with alleged violations of financial transaction laws abroad.
He was arrested under a Bureau of Immigration deportation warrant for being a fugitive from justice.
“This arrest sends a clear message: fugitives have no place to hide in the Philippines,” PNP chief General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said in a statement.
The suspect is in the custody of the Bureau of Immigration pending deportation, police said.
