A high-value target was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by joint law enforcement agencies in Barangay Alag, Baco, Oriental Mindoro on Sunday, November 23, 2025.

The suspect, identified only by the alias “Raniel,” was apprehended by operatives from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) MIMAROPA, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Oriental Mindoro, the Baco Municipal Police Station, and the 404th Regional Mobile Force Battalion.

Law enforcers confiscated approximately 4.5 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of P30,600, along with various drug paraphernalia.

The inventory of the seized evidence was conducted on-site in the presence of a barangay official, a media representative, and the suspect, in compliance with the chain of custody procedures under Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The operating units reported that the entire procedure was documented using body-worn cameras to ensure transparency. The suspected illegal drugs have been turned over to the PDEA MIMAROPA Laboratory Section for chemical analysis.

The suspect is now facing charges for violation of Article II of RA 9165.
