Occidental Mindoro Governor Ed Gadiano on Monday inaugurated a new Out Patient Department building at the Occidental Mindoro Provincial Hospital, expanding medical services for residents of the island province.

The facility, opened on October 6, 2025 in Mamburao town, is expected to provide faster and more comfortable healthcare services to outpatients, according to hospital officials.

The project was implemented in two phases, with the first funded by Bagong Henerasyon Partylist and the second financed by the provincial government, Gadiano said in a Facebook post.

“The Gadiano administration will continue to strive to deliver quality medical services to every corner of the province,” the governor said during the inauguration ceremony.

Dr. Reynaldo Feratero, the hospital’s chief, said the new building would serve as an additional facility to meet growing healthcare demands in the province.

The project was spearheaded by the Provincial Health Office under Dr. Romualdo Salazar Jr., in coordination with the provincial government.

The ceremony included the unveiling of a marker, ribbon-cutting, and blessing, with performances by hospital staff.

Vice Governor Anecita Diana Apigo-Tayag, provincial board members Ryan Sioson and Sonia Pablo, and various department heads attended the event.
