Woman’s Lifeless Body Retrieved from Waters Off Occidental Mindoro

Emergency responders recovered the body of a 46-year-old fisherwoman from waters between Ambulong Island and Sitio Mangga on Sunday afternoon, provincial disaster officials reported.

The Samarica sub-office of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office received word of a body floating in the area at 1:57 pm on September 7, 2025.

This prompted a coordinated retrieval operation involving the Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine National Police, and municipal disaster teams.

Officials from Barangay Ansiray, headed by Captain Marlon Ramintas, guided rescuers to the exact location where the body was spotted.

The woman, a resident of Barangay Ilin Proper, had set out to fish when the tragedy occurred, family members told authorities.

Recovery teams pulled her body from the water at 3:33 pm.

Police are still determining what led to the woman’s death at sea.
