Local government authorities in Baco have conducted safety inspections at popular tourist resorts as the summer season officially begins, with large visitor numbers expected in the coming months.
The Inter-Agency Task Force, led by Tourism Officer Bejay Dimalibot, carried out preparation spot inspections and technical assistance visits to popular resorts throughout the municipality.
Acting on directives from Mayor Allan Roldan, the team wants to ensure tourist safety by providing technical guidance to resort owners and staff while implementing essential safety measures.
“Our goal is to ensure visitors not only enjoy their stay but return home safely,” Baco LGU said.
Inspected properties included Tiboy Rapids, Bayanan River, Infinity Farm, JC Resort, Delfinity Resort, Tribu, Hidden Paradise, Tampisaw, Tagbungan River Resort, Lantuyang River, Kambal-Bato and Janakis Davie’s Resort & Hotel.
The inspection team comprised representatives from various agencies including Baco Municipal Police Station, Bureau of Fire Protection, Municipal Health Office, Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office, Engineering Office, Environment and Natural Resources Office, Public Information Office, and Tourism Office staff.
Baco, Oriental Mindoro has emerged as a popular destination for domestic tourists seeking nature-based experiences away from Manila’s urban sprawl.
The municipality is known for its rivers, waterfalls and agricultural tourism sites.
Located approximately 130km south of Manila, Baco serves as a gateway to Oriental Mindoro’s natural attractions, with tourism numbers steadily increasing over recent years as travelers seek alternatives to more commercialized Philippine destinations.
The area is particularly known for its river-based attractions and agri-tourism experiences, with the local government actively promoting sustainable tourism development to protect its natural resources while supporting economic growth.
