A 44-year-old man was apprehended in a joint anti-drug operation on Sunday in Barangay Lacurva, San Jose, Occidental Mindoro.

Agents from the Municipal Drug Enforcement Team (MDET) of the San Jose Municipal Police Station, led by Police Lieutenant Amador G. Sison Jr., collaborated with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Occidental Mindoro and the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) to conduct the sting.

The suspect, identified as a utility worker and resident of Barangay San Roque, allegedly sold suspected illegal drugs worth P1,000 to undercover officers.

Two sachets of suspected shabu (methamphetamine) and the marked buy-bust money were seized as evidence.

The suspect now faces charges under Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Recovered evidence has been submitted to the Occidental Mindoro Provincial Forensic Unit for analysis, while the individual remains in custody at the San Jose Municipal Police Station pending further legal proceedings.
