Notorious Drug Dealer Arrested in Calapan Buy-Bust Operation

Government authorities arrested a notorious drug suspect in a buy-bust operation in Oriental Mindoro province, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said Friday.

Ranie Villanueva, alias Rani, 50, was apprehended on November 22, 2024 in Guinobatan, Calapan City, after a joint operation by the PDEA Oriental Mindoro Provincial Office, the Philippine National Police (PNP) Calapan City Drug Enforcement Unit, and other law enforcement agencies.

Villanueva, who was on the Regional Target List (RTL), was found in possession of approximately 0.2 grams of suspected shabu, a methamphetamine hydrochloride, with an estimated street value of P1,360 pesos.

The suspect, who is unemployed and single, will face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, also known as Republic Act 9165.
