A buy-bust operation led by the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU) resulted in the arrest of a woman known as “Marilyn” on Thursday.
According to authorities, Marilyn, an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) who recently returned to the country in April, was caught selling a sachet of suspected shabu weighing 0.15 grams and valued at P1,000 pesos to an undercover agent.
The operation was conducted by the RDEU, led by PLTCOL. Israel Cisco Magnaye, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Gloria Municipal Police Station (MPS), under the supervision of PMaj. Honorato Balinte.
Authorities said they had been monitoring the suspect’s movements for some time, as she frequently changed locations within the Gloria area.
Intelligence gathered by the police also indicated that the suspect used each house she stayed in as a makeshift drug den, with several vehicles seen visiting these locations.
Marilyn’s companion, also a subject of the operation, managed to escape before police could apprehend her.
Marilyn, who claimed to be a first-time offender, expressed a mix of fear, sadness, and anxiety as she faces charges for allegedly selling the illicit substance. She also revealed that she is separated from her husband and has young children.
In a surprising turn of events, two more vehicles arrived at the location after the suspect’s arrest, leading police to suspect that they may have been clients of the suspect.
