Police arrested a suspected drug dealer in a pre-dawn raid Sunday in Occidental Mindoro province, authorities said.
The 28-year-old suspect, identified only as “Rio,” was caught selling methamphetamine, locally known as shabu, to an undercover officer around 3:40 a.m. in Magsaysay town, according to Magsaysay PNP Station.
Officers seized two packets of suspected methamphetamine weighing approximately 4.3 grams, with an estimated street value of P24,000 pesos. The buy-bust money was also recovered.
The operation was conducted jointly by the Magsaysay Municipal Police Station, the Occidental Mindoro Provincial Police Drug Enforcement Unit, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
The suspect is being held at the Magsaysay police station and faces charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Police said the arrest is part of an intensified anti-drug campaign in Occidental Mindoro province.
