Calapan City – A joint anti-illegal drugs operation in Calapan City resulted in the arrest of a suspect and the seizure of suspected shabu, authorities announced over the weekend.
The operation, conducted by the Calapan City Drug Enforcement Team (CDET), Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU), Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PNPDEG), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) MIMAROPA, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Ormin, led to the arrest of the suspect at around 10:28 AM last Wednesday in Barangay Balite, Calapan City.
According to the Calapan City Police Station, the suspect was caught after a poseur buyer purchased a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu. The poseur buyer then marked the item with a signature and the time of the transaction.
A search of the suspect’s possession yielded two more heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, with an estimated weight of 0.214 grams and a total market value of P1,455.20 pesos.
The operation also resulted in the confiscation of a small white paper and a genuine 500-peso bill used as marked money.
The suspect is currently under the custody of the Calapan City Police Station, while a complaint for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, is being prepared against him.
The confiscated suspected drugs will be brought to the PDEA 4B for laboratory examination.
The operation was witnessed by Barangay Councilor Roberto R. De Guzman, media representative Junard Acapulco, and NPS Representative Anna Loraine Villapando.
