Oriental Mindoro Governor Bonz Dolor pledged Tuesday to provide free vaccines for 500 senior citizens, donate medicines and medical equipment, and allocate up to P2 million pesos for a new building to support Rotary Club projects.

The governor made these commitments during the 9th Handover and Induction ceremonies of the Rotary Club of West Naujan & Calapan (RCWNC) held at the Filipiniana Hotel in Calapan City.

“Rotary is a family to me, but more than that, Rotary is life,” Dolor said in his speech as guest of honor.

The promises came in response to RCWNC’s focus on addressing healthcare concerns for senior citizens, as outlined by incoming president Charles Anthony M. Catarbas.

Catarbas, who was inducted during the ceremony, expressed his intention to collaborate with the provincial government to expand their programs.

The event also saw the induction of 10 new members and the oath-taking of new officers led by Catarbas.

District Governor Arnold H. Mendoza praised RCWNC’s dedication and urged members to unite in promoting the Rotary motto “Service above Self.”

Outgoing president Arvin P. Tolentino reflected on the challenges faced and overcome during his tenure.

In a related development, Governor Dolor expressed his gratitude as the Rotary Club of Victoria in Oriental Mindoro finally has its own home after 25 years.

In a social media post, Dolor thanked his cousins, Leonora Atienza-Razon and Nestor Razon, for donating the land for the Rotary Club’s new building.

The project is an achievement for the Rotary Club of Victoria, which has been serving the community for over two decades.
