Tropical Storm Enteng (international name: Yagi) slightly intensified as it decelerated over the coastal waters of Vinzons, Camarines Norte, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in its bulletin issued at 5:00 AM on Monday, Sept. 2.

Enteng packed maximum sustained winds of 75 km/h near the center, with gusts of up to 90 km/h, and a central pressure of 998 hPa. It was moving west-northwestward at 10 km/h.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signals (TCWS) were raised in several areas in Luzon, with Signal No. 2 hoisted over the northeastern portions of Camarines Norte and Camarines Sur, eastern portions of Cagayan and Isabela, Polillo Islands, and other areas.

Signal No. 1 was raised over a wider area, including several provinces in Luzon and other areas in Eastern Visayas.

Heavy rainfall is expected, with more than 200 mm forecast for Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, Polillo Island, and the southern portion of mainland Quezon on Monday.

PAGASA warned of flooding and rain-induced landslides, especially in highly susceptible areas.

The flood warning alert has been issued for Mindoro provinces and MIMAROPA region.

The enhanced Southwest Monsoon will also bring moderate to intense rainfall in other areas of Luzon and Visayas, particularly along the western portions.

Enteng is forecast to move generally northwestward in the next 24 hours and may make landfall over Isabela or Cagayan on Monday afternoon or night.

A possible landfall over the northern portion of Aurora is not ruled out.

The storm is expected to intensify into a severe tropical storm by Wednesday and may reach typhoon category by Thursday or Friday. It is forecast to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Wednesday evening to Thursday early morning.

PAGASA advised the public and disaster risk reduction and management offices to take necessary measures to protect life and property.
