A lifeless body was found floating in waters off Oriental Mindoro province Sunday, authorities said, as police launched an investigation to identify the deceased.
The body was discovered Sunday morning, Nov. 3, 2025, in Sitio Wawa, Brgy. Paclasan in Roxas municipality, prompting an immediate response from the Roxas Municipal Police Station.
The deceased was wearing only black underwear, authorities said.
Identification has been complicated by the body’s advanced state of decomposition after prolonged immersion in water, with the upper torso severely deteriorated, police said.
Investigators are working to determine the victim’s identity and whether foul play was involved.
Roxas PNP is checking reports of missing persons from Roxas and neighboring municipalities that may match the body’s description.
Police authorities urged anyone with information to contact the nearest police station.
