Ferry Service Between Mindoro and Boracay Gateway Resumes Operations

Maritime passenger services between Bulalacao in Oriental Mindoro and Caticlan, the primary gateway to world-renowned Boracay Beach, have resumed operations, providing travelers with an alternative route to one of the Philippines’ most popular tourist destinations.

The ferry route, which had been suspended, is now offering twice-daily departures in each direction, according to FastCat operator.

Vessels depart Bulalacao at 10:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., while return trips from Caticlan are scheduled for 3:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

The resumption of the sea route comes as the country’s tourism industry continues its recovery trajectory in 2025, with Boracay remaining a cornerstone destination for both domestic and international visitors.

The Bulalacao-Caticlan maritime corridor offers passengers from southern Luzon and Mindoro an alternative to the traditional Manila-Caticlan air route or the longer land journey through Panay Island.

The service is expected to benefit residents of Oriental Mindoro province and provide more flexible travel options during peak tourism seasons.

Passengers seeking information or bookings can contact operators at 0929-845-4071 for the Bulalacao port, or 0963-802-6011 and 0905-545-1675 for the Caticlan terminal.

Boracay, known for its powdery white sand beaches and vibrant nightlife, underwent a rehabilitation closure during the pandemic, and has since maintained stricter environmental protocols to preserve its natural resources while accommodating visitors.
