The Municipality of Pinamalayan will offer a free theoretical driving course this weekend as part of a public service program by the LGU and the Land Transportation Office (LTO).
The two-day course will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 4-5, 2025 at Papandayan Elementary School, according to an announcement from the municipal government.
Mayor Rodel M. Magsino and Vice Mayor Aris A. Baldos Jr. are spearheading the program, which they have branded as a “Working Tandem ng Bayan”. The course is being conducted in partnership with the LTO-Pinamalayan office.
Joseph A. Abes, the LTO supervisor and officer-in-charge for Pinamalayan, will oversee the theoretical driving instruction.
Atty. Esteban M. Baltazar Jr., LTO executive director and regional director for Region 4B, is fully supporting the program.
The theoretical driving course is a mandatory component for obtaining a driver’s license in the Philippines. It typically covers traffic rules, road signs, safe driving practices and basic vehicle operation principles.
Municipal officials encouraged residents to take advantage of the free training, describing it as an opportunity to gain knowledge for safe driving practices.
The course is open to Pinamalayan residents at no cost.
