Gov. Dolor Fires Off Scathing Attack on Provincial Board Over River Restoration Probe

Oriental Mindoro Governor Humerlito “Bonz” Dolor has unleashed a blistering tirade against the provincial board members Wednesday, accusing them of political persecution while turning a blind eye to billion-peso flood control corruption scandals that have plagued the province.

In a fiery Facebook post that sent shockwaves through the provincial capitol, Dolor unleashed an all-out assault on what he described as the board’s misplaced priorities and alleged cover-up of massive infrastructure anomalies.

“Labis nakakalungkot ang pagpapasa ninyo ngayon ng resolusyon para paimbestigahan sa Senate Blue Ribbon Committee,” Dolor wrote, his words dripping with contempt for the board’s decision to investigate his River Restoration Program.

The governor’s explosive statement comes after the provincial board passed resolutions calling for Senate and Commission on Audit investigations into his river restoration project, which Dolor claims underwent six years of legal processes and cost taxpayers nothing.

But Dolor reserved his most venomous attacks for what he characterized as the board’s deafening silence on substandard flood control projects.

“SAMANTALANG HANGGANG NGAYON AY HINDI NINYO MAGAWANG samahan ako at ang taumbayan para mapanagot ang mga may kinalaman sa BILYON-BILYONG FLOOD CONTROL Projects na SUBSTANDARD, OVERPRICED at PINAGKITAAN,” the governor thundered, his capitalized words reflecting his rage over allegedly corrupt flood control contracts.

The heated confrontation exposes deep fractures in Oriental Mindoro’s political landscape, with Dolor positioning himself as a crusader against corruption while painting the provincial board as complicit in covering up what he describes as blood money extracted from taxpayers.

Dolor specifically cited some locations where flood control projects have allegedly failed immediately after construction, including barangays Mulawin, Tagumpay, and Arangin in Naujan town, and Barangay Managpi in Calapan City.

“ANG RIVER RESTORATION THRU DREDGING PROGRAMโ€ฆ ay HINDI URI ng PAGMIMINA at hindi COMMERCIAL DREDGING,” Dolor declared, defending his controversial river restoration project against what he characterized as deliberate misinformation campaigns.

The governor’s most personal grievance emerged as he addressed corruption allegations against him directly.

“Sobrang sakit na po ANG MGA PARATANG sa akin ng mga PULITIKO na TUMANGGAP AKO ng PERA sa DREDGING,” Dolor wrote, his anguish palpable as he denied receiving money from dredging operations.

The political warfare intensified as Dolor demanded an end to what he sees as partisan persecution while real corruption goes unpunished.

“TAMA NA PO ANG SOBRANG PAMUMULITIKA. TAMA NA RIN ANG PAGTATAKIP SA MGA ANOMALYA SA BILYON-BILYONG FLOOD CONTROL PROJECTS,” the embattled governor concluded, throwing down the gauntlet in what appears to be an escalating battle for Oriental Mindoro’s political soul.

The explosive confrontation sets the stage for what could become one of the most contentious political battles in Oriental Mindoro’s recent history, with flood control corruption and river restoration programs now at the center of a bitter war of words between the province’s top executive and its legislative body.
