The provinces of Occidental and Oriental Mindoro are bracing for heavy rainfall of 50-100 millimeters on Monday (August 25, 2025) as a low pressure area (LPA) enhances the southwest monsoon, the state weather bureau said.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued the Weather Advisory on Sunday, warning that both Mindoro provinces, along with 17 other areas including Aurora, Batangas, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, and Quezon, face heavy rainfall on August 25, 2025.
The weather disturbance is expected to shift its impact zone throughout the week.
As of Sunday, 16 provinces primarily in the Visayas and Mindanao regions experienced heavy downpours, including Masbate, Albay, Sorsogon, and several areas in Eastern Visayas and Caraga.
By Tuesday, the rainfall focus will narrow to eight areas including Metro Manila, Aurora, and four Calabarzon provinces, PAGASA said.
The weather bureau warned that mountainous and elevated areas may experience higher rainfall amounts, with impacts potentially worsened by recent heavy rains.
“The public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to take all necessary measures to protect life and property,” PAGASA said.
