Oriental Mindoro is bracing for heavy rainfall as Tropical Depression Crising continues to dump heavy rains across the Bicol Region, MIMAROPA and Northern Samar, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Thursday.
The weather bureau issued its third rainfall advisory at 5 a.m., warning that moderate rains are expected to hit eight areas in Oriental Mindoro โ including Socorro, Pola, Victoria, Naujan, Baco, Calapan City, Puerto Galera and San Teodoro โ within the next two to three hours.
Seven other municipalities in the province, including Bulalacao, Mansalay, Roxas, Bongabong, Bansud, Gloria and Pinamalayan, are experiencing moderate to occasionally heavy rains that may persist for two to three hours and could affect surrounding areas.
The tropical depression is also bringing moderate to heavy rainfall to Northern Samar and the entire Bicol Region, including Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon and Masbate.
The provinces of Romblon and Marinduque are also affected.
PAGASA advised the public and local disaster risk reduction and management offices to monitor weather conditions and watch for the next warning advisory.
