The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Oriental Mindoro will host a series of events from July 8-11 to mark the 2025 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) Development Week under the theme “Asenso Negosyo, Angat Kabuhayan: Bagong Pilipinas.”
The celebration, mandated under Section 16 of Republic Act No. 9501 or the Magna Carta for MSMEs, designates the second week of July annually as MSMED Week to highlight the sector’s role in nation-building.
Four towns across Oriental Mindoro will host franchise development seminars focusing on strategies, development and advantages for MSMEs.
Puerto Galera kicks off the program on July 8, followed by Pinamalayan on July 9, 2025.
The Pinamalayan event will feature an MSME caravan including the launch of digitalization programs with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and the Governance Commission for Government-Owned and Controlled Corporations.
Other activities include the rollout of the Paleng-QR PH Program with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, financing programs from the Small Business Corporation, and services from the Intellectual Property Office.
Roxas and Naujan will conclude the series on July 10 and 11 respectively, both featuring franchise development sessions.
DTI said the lined-up events will promote innovation and digitization among Mindoro MSMEs in today’s competitive business environment while raising awareness of their essential contribution to government development efforts.
