Tricycle Driver Nabbed in Mamburao Buy-bust Operation

Police arrested a high-value target in an anti-drug operation in Barangay Tayamaan, Mamburao town on June 20, 2025, authorities said Saturday.

The suspect, identified only as “Ric,” 51, a tricycle driver from Barangay 8, Mamburao, was caught selling suspected shabu (crystal methamphetamine) to an undercover agent around 10:30 pm, according to the Mamburao Municipal Police Station.

The operation was conducted jointly by the Mamburao police, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Occidental Mindoro Provincial Office, and the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit of the Occidental Mindoro Provincial Police Office.

Authorities seized 0.2 grams of suspected shabu sold to the poseur buyer, plus another 1.5-gram packet of the illegal substance worth P10,000.

Police also recovered the 1,000-peso bill used as marked money.

The suspect faces charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
