Oriental Mindoro Provincial Hospital inaugurated a new endoscopy and colonoscopy unit on Thursday, expanding diagnostic capabilities for patients in the province with support from international Rotary clubs.
Governor Humerlito Dolor announced the opening of the specialized medical unit in a social media post, citing the collaboration with multiple Rotary organizations that made the facility possible.
The endoscopy equipment was donated through a partnership between the Rotary Club of Calapan, Rotary International District 3820, Rotary International District 3700, and the Rotary Club of Daegum Kumsong from South Korea.
“This afternoon we inaugurated the new Endoscopy and Colonoscopy Unit at OMPH together with the Rotary Club of Calapan,” Dolor said in his Facebook post, expressing gratitude to the international donors.

Endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures are essential for detecting and diagnosing various digestive system conditions, including cancers and inflammatory diseases.
Rotary International has been engaged in ongoing global health projects, which focus on expanding access to medical care in underserved communities worldwide.
