Police arrested a 35-year-old man in a buy-bust operation Saturday afternoon in Barangay Cacawan, according to police authorities.

The Anti Drug Unit of Pinamalayan Municipal Police Station, led by Police Lieutenant Colonel Joel G. Paningbatan, arrested the suspect identified as alias “Rodenil,” a married resident of the barangay.

Police said they had been monitoring the suspect for an extended period before conducting the operation at 3 p.m. May 24, 2025.

During the operation, an undercover officer purchased one sachet of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as “shabu,” for P500 pesos from the suspect.

Police recovered three additional sachets from the suspect’s pocket during the arrest.

The suspect admitted to surrendering during the government’s anti-drug campaign “Tokhang” and claimed this would be his first time facing imprisonment.

The suspect is currently detained at the Pinamalayan Municipal Police Station while authorities prepare charges against him.
