Police have arrested a suspect wanted for attempted murder in a remote barangay in Mansalay, Oriental Mindoro province, authorities said.
The operation was conducted around 3:30 pm last Wednesday in Sitio Sinariri, Barangay Panaytayan, by a joint team from the Mansalay Municipal Police Station led by Police Major Remon Jake Aguho, alongside specialized units including the 403rd Mobile Company.
The suspect, whose identity was not immediately disclosed, had evaded authorities for nearly 14 years.
The arrest warrant was issued on June 14, 2011, by Judge Pastor A. De Castro of the Regional Trial Court Branch 43 in Roxas, Oriental Mindoro.
Authorities have set bail at P120,000 pesos for the attempted murder charge.
The suspect has been transferred to the court of origin for further legal proceedings.
