Bridge Widening Project Improves Transportation in Oriental Mindoro

A bridge widening project in Oriental Mindoro has improved transport links between towns, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has announced.

The Burabod Bridge along Calapan South Road, which connects the municipalities of Mansalay and Bulalacao, has been expanded from two to four lanes.

The project included widening the carriageway and constructing approach slabs, retaining walls, and guardrails. A dedicated bike lane has also been added.

Southern Mindoro District Engineer Annielyn Padullo told DPWH MIMAROPA Regional Director Gerald Pacanan that the upgrade was designed to accommodate growing numbers of tourists and Mindoro road users.

Officials say the improved infrastructure will enhance the movement of goods and services to Mansalay and surrounding areas, while providing safer travel conditions for all road users.
