Senator Bong Go has officially opened on Friday (April 11, 2025) a new youth center in Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro, featuring modern sports facilities, a dormitory and a library.

The project, funded through Senator Go’s role as Vice Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Finance, was completed under the previous administration of President Rodrigo Duterte.

As Chair of the Senate Committee on Sports and Youth, Senator Go pointed out the importance of developing young Filipino minds, stating his belief that “the hope of our nation lies with the youth” who will become the country’s future leaders.

The facility includes multiple sports facilities, training centres, world-class volleyball and basketball courts, a grand ballroom area, and a library with information and communications technology resources.

According to Senator Go, often referred to as “Mr. Malasakit”, the center will particularly benefit disadvantaged students in Oriental Mindoro province by supporting their education.
