Student-led surveys at two Oriental Mindoro schools show strong support for incumbent officials ahead of upcoming May 2025 elections.
A survey conducted by Mindoro State University’s student publication, Builders Pandayan, found Gov. Humerlito “Bonz” Dolor leading the gubernatorial race with 65% support among 355 student respondents. Businessman Orven Rabino followed with 11.5%, and Joanna Valencia had 5.9%.
In the vice gubernatorial race, Vice Gov. Jojo Perez led with 39.1% of mock votes, while Hubert Dolor, the governor’s brother, secured 26.1%. Cesar dela Fuente placed third with 10.7%.
A separate poll at Divine Word College of Calapan yielded similar results, with Dolor receiving 75.2% of student votes.
Valencia and Rabino garnered 13% and 11.8%, respectively.
For vice governor, Perez led with 51.7%, followed by Dolor with 29.4% and dela Fuente with 18.9%.
In congressional races, Rep. Arnan Panaligan is running unopposed in the 1st District.
In the 2nd District, Vice Gov. Ejay Falcon received 55.5% support, while incumbent Rep. Alfonso Umali Jr. had 34.7%.
Both schools’ student electoral boards issued disclaimers stating that the survey results do not reflect the views or opinions of their respective school administrations.
