Two men were arrested in a drug sting operation in Naujan, Oriental Mindoro, after authorities seized approximately 50 grams of suspected methamphetamine, officials said Sunday.

The suspects, known by their aliases “Lapad”, 48, and “Hapon”, 38, were apprehended during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Santiago, Naujan.

According to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), agents initially purchased a packet of suspected methamphetamine, locally known as shabu, for P500.

A follow-up search led to the discovery of 18 additional plastic sachets of the illegal substance, with a total estimated street value of P340,000.

The suspects, both working as drivers in the area, are now in custody at a PDEA facility. They face charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

The operation was a joint effort between PDEA’s Oriental Mindoro office, Naujan police drug enforcement units, and the National Bureau of Investigation.
