A five-day mega medical mission offering free surgeries and healthcare services will launch in Pinamalayan, Oriental Mindoro next week, organizers announced on Thursday.
The healthcare mission, scheduled for February 17-21, will be held at the Pinamalayan Doctors Hospital and IBSMA Gym, jointly organized by the GC Rivera Foundation and Congressman Alfonso “PA” Umali.
The program will provide major surgical procedures including thyroid operations, hernias, cholecystectomies, and hysterectomies at no cost to patients.
Minor surgical services for tumors will also be available, alongside free dental care and medical consultations.
A special focus has been placed on children with special needs, with dedicated consultations available at the facilities, according to the organizers.
“All services, including laboratory tests and hospitalization for surgical procedures, will be provided free of charge,” said a spokesperson for the foundation.
Medical professionals from Manila and international locations are expected to participate in the mission.
Patient registration began on January 27 at the LEDIP Office in the municipal hall.
Organizers noted that prospective surgery patients must be present during registration for medical assessment.
The upcoming medical mission is believed to be one of the largest healthcare outreach events in Oriental Mindoro this year.
