A 49-year-old man was arrested following a coordinated anti-drug operation conducted by municipal and regional police forces in Barangay Poblacion, Puerto Galera on Tuesday.
The operation, led by Police Lieutenant Colonel Israel Magnaye from the PNP Regional Drug Enforcement Unit MIMAROPA and the Municipal Drug Enforcement Team of the Puerto Galera Municipal Police Station under Acting Chief of Police Police Major Simeon M. Tutaan, Jr., resulted in the seizure of three plastic packets suspected to contain “shabu”, with an estimated street value of P21,760.
Additional items seized included a motorcycle, paper, and plastic packaging associated with “bearbrand”.
The operation was documented in the presence of media representatives and a barangay official, using the PNP station’s Alternative Recording Device (ARD).
The suspect now faces charges under Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Documentation for the case against him is currently being prepared.
