Police authorities have seized over P133,000 worth of suspected methamphetamine, known locally as “shabu”, and a firearm from a suspect in Occidental Mindoro, officials said Tuesday.

Alyas “Soy”, 46, was arrested in a buy-bust operation at his residence in Sitio Molave, Barangay Luteboro 2, Socorro, on Monday, according to a joint statement from the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

The operation, led by Police Major Joel S. Saguid, yielded three pouches containing 15 sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 19.6 grams, with an estimated street value of P133,000.

An old improvised short 12-gauge shotgun and five live .45 caliber bullets were also recovered from the suspect’s residence.

In a separate operation, a Priority High Value Individual (PHVI) identified as Alyas “Padlak”, 43, was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Sto. Niño, Rizal, Occidental Mindoro, on Sunday.

The suspect, a resident of Barangay Pagasa, San Jose, was apprehended after allegedly purchasing suspected illegal drugs weighing approximately 0.20 grams from an undercover officer for P1,000.

Authorities recovered the buy-bust money and another package of suspected shabu weighing approximately 1.60 grams, valued at P9,600, from the suspect.
