    2 Killed in Motorcycle-Coaster Collision in Gloria, Oriental Mindoro

    Two men died instantly this evening after a violent road collision between a motorcycle and a coaster bus in Barangay Sta. Maria, Gloria town, police authorities reported Saturday (January 25, 2025).

    According to Gloria Municipal Police Station investigation, the coaster bus traveling from Gloria to Roxas attempted an overtaking maneuver, resulting in a fatal collision with an Nmax motorcycle.

    The victims were identified as Jeremie Ituralde Atilano, the motorcycle driver, and his brother-in-law Mark Jefferson De Ocampo Salazar, both residents of Gloria.

    Both were declared dead on arrival (DOA) by attending physician Dr. Kiara Pauleen Laracas after being transported by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO).

    The coaster bus driver, Jay Castro, has been detained pending further investigation.

    Police are currently gathering CCTV footage to determine the precise circumstances of the accident.

    Police Major Honorato Balinte urged motorists to exercise caution on the roads, reminding people about the importance of safe driving.

    The investigation is ongoing.
