DMCI Power’s Energy Sales Surge in Mindoro and Beyond

DMCI Power Corporation reported a 9% jump in energy sales for 2024, driven by increased demand in Mindoro and other provinces, marking its 14th consecutive year of record performance.

The company delivered 491.2 gigawatt-hours of energy in 2024, bolstered by rising electricity consumption in Palawan, Masbate, and Oriental Mindoro.

The growth was particularly supported by the full-year operations of its 15-megawatt Palawan Thermal Power Plant, which began local energy supply in August 2023.

Looking ahead, DMCI Power plans to expand its installed capacity by 27% in 2025, with 43 megawatts of projects in development. These include the company’s first renewable energy venture, a 12-megawatt wind project in Semirara, set to commence commercial operations early next year.

DMCI Power President Antonino Gatdula, Jr. cited recent contract awards, including 2 megawatts in Antique and an additional 15 megawatts in Palawan.

“Our ongoing and upcoming projects aim to deliver reliable and efficient energy solutions that support national progress,” Gatdula said.

The company is developing two bunker power plants: an 8-megawatt facility in Aborlan, Palawan, expected to complete in the first quarter of 2025, and another 8-megawatt plant in Masbate, anticipated to be operational by the second quarter.

DMCI Power Corporation is expanding its presence in Mindoro, providing off-grid energy solutions to the island through power supply agreements with electric cooperatives.

The company has a total installed capacity of 159.8 MW and has committed to supplying emergency power to Mindoro island.

DMCI Power plans to develop additional power generation capacity and explore renewable energy options to meet the growing energy demands of off-grid island.
