Pinamalayan, Oriental Mindoro โ€“ A survey conducted by Mindoro Today across all 37 barangays in Pinamalayan confirms Governor Humerlito โ€œBonzโ€ Dolorโ€™s formidable standing as he seeks his third and final term under the Galing at Serbisyo para sa Mindoreรฑo (GSM) party.

Of the 1,000 respondents surveyed, 64% expressed support for Dolor, leaving challengers realtor Joanna Valencia (11%) and contractor Orven Rabino (3%), both running as independents, far behind. Meanwhile, 22% of respondents remain undecided, suggesting a window of opportunity for rival candidates.

Dolorโ€™s running mate and brother, Dr. Hubbert Dolor, appears to have a tougher climb in the vice gubernatorial race. Former Vice Governor Atty. Jojo Perez of the Mindoro Bago Sarili Party leads with 37%, while Dr. Dolor follows with 23%. Naujan-based candidate Atty. Mong dela Fuente garnered 5%, while 35% of respondents remain undecided.

Despite the lukewarm response to the Dolor-Dolor tandem, the former provincial administrator’s 23% shows a consistent improvement from his earlier numbers when he was reportedly contemplating a congressional run, where his support hovered between 12% and 15%. This upward trend could signal growing recognition of his candidacy among voters.

For the Provincial Board race in the second district of the province, re-electionists lead the pack:

    Pau Umali (PFP): 44%
    Atty. Jom Dimapilis (GSM): 41%
    Atty. Roland Ruga (GSM): 41%
    Engr. Butch Buenaventura (GSM): 25%

However, the race for the fifth seat is heating up, with:

    Atty. Manny Buenaventura (PFP): 21%
    Niรฑo Liwanag (GSM): 21%
    Anthony Yap (Lakas): 19%
    Atty. Vico Ong (Lakas): 19%

Statistically tied within the surveyโ€™s ยฑ3.1% margin of error, this tight race underscores the significance of every vote, as only five members will be elected to the Provincial Board.

    Trailing the pack are:

    Jigs Talens (GSM): 13%
    Romy Sadiwa (Independent): 3%

The survey underscores Governor Dolorโ€™s continued dominance, but the undecided bloc in the vice gubernatorial and board member races suggests room for shifts as the campaign progresses.

    Methodology
The survey, conducted by Mindoro Today, covered all 37 barangays in Pinamalayan, with 1,000 respondents randomly selected to ensure representative sampling. Conducted from December 16, 2024, to January 15, 2025, the survey results carry a 95% confidence level and a ยฑ3.1% margin of error. Respondents were asked to select their preferred candidates for governor, vice governor, congressman, and board members through a structured questionnaire.
