Police arrested a suspected drug dealer during a buy-bust operation in Occidental Mindoro province on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 11, 2025.
The 45-year-old female suspect, identified only by the alias “Weng,” was apprehended around 3:45 p.m. in Punta district of Sablayan municipality.
Authorities listed her as a “provincial high-value individual” in their drug watchlist.
The operation was conducted jointly by the Sablayan Municipal Drug Enforcement Team and the Occidental Mindoro Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit.
Officers using marked money purchased what appeared to be crystal methamphetamine, locally known as “shabu,” from the suspect for P1,000 pesos.
Police recovered the marked money and two additional plastic sachets suspected to contain illegal drugs from the suspect.
The suspect, a resident of Brgy. Buenavista, is in custody at Sablayan police station. She faces charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
