A new roll-on/roll-off (RORO) vessel service is set to strengthen island connectivity between Occidental Mindoro and Aklan provinces, offering an alternative route for vehicles and cargo traveling between Luzon and the Visayas.
M/V LCT ABL DUBHE, operated by ABL Marine Safety & Trading, will provide regular ferry service between Sta. Teresa Port in Magsaysay, Occidental Mindoro and Caticlan Port, the gateway to popular tourist destination Boracay Island.
The vessel will depart at 10:00 AM, operating from Sta. Teresa to Caticlan on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with return trips scheduled on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Fares range from P310 pesos for bicycles to P62,200 pesos for heavy equipment weighing 20-30 tons.
The service accommodates various vehicles including motorcycles, cars, buses, and cargo trucks.
The new maritime route is expected to boost trade and tourism between Mindoro and Western Visayas, providing a crucial transport link for both passengers and cargo.
Mindoro, the seventh largest island in the country, is a major agricultural producer, while Caticlan serves as the main port for Boracay Island’s tourism industry.
Passengers can make bookings and inquiries through the company’s designated contact person, Mar A. Delos Santos.
The service includes amenities such as free Wi-Fi, meals for drivers and helpers, and complimentary coffee.
The exact date for the maiden voyage will be announced by ABL DUBHE Shipping management.
