Police arrested a suspected drug dealer in a buy-bust operation in Socorro, Oriental Mindoro over the weekend, PNP authorities said.
The suspect, identified only as “Alias Edel,” 38, was apprehended at approximately 3:46 p.m. at a waiting shed in Sitio Acacia, Barangay Leuteboro-2. Police Major Aries-Joi M. Adorio led the operation.
According to police reports, an undercover agent purchased one sachet of suspected methamphetamine, locally known as “shabu,” from the suspect for P1,000 pesos.
A subsequent search revealed another sachet hidden in a yellow wallet in the suspect’s possession.
The suspect, a resident of Sitio Duungan, Barangay Lapog, admitted to using methamphetamine and had previously surrendered under “Oplan Tokhang,” the government’s anti-drug campaign.
Barangay official Reydande D. Magtibay witnessed the inventory of seized items.
The suspect faces drug-related charges and is currently detained at Socorro Municipal Police Station.
