Provincial government authorities in Oriental Mindoro have announced mandatory registration requirements for drone operators planning to cover the province’s 74th founding anniversary celebrations this November, citing safety and regulatory compliance.
The Provincial Tourism Office issued a directive requiring all drone operators to register before documenting the “Fiesta Mahal Tana” festivities, which will run from November 12-15, 2024.
“Only registered and approved drones will be allowed to fly during the events,” said the advisory from the Provincial Tourism Office. “Designated flight zones will be set within the venues to ensure public safety and orderly coverage.”
Drone operators must complete an online registration form and submit required documentation, including a government-issued identification card and a 2×2 photograph, by noon on November 9, 2024. The strict deadline comes three days before the start of the anniversary celebrations.
The Provincial Tourism Office has established dedicated hotlines for inquiries and assistance, working in coordination with the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) to implement the drone registration system.
Operators seeking additional information can contact the Provincial Tourism Office at 0917 110 8733 or the PDRRMO at 0948 146 0382 and 0920 951 3690.
