A high-value target was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by law enforcement agents in San Jose, Occidental Mindoro, on Saturday.
According to reports, the operation was carried out by personnel from the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) of the Occidental Mindoro PPO, in coordination with the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU), Municipal Drug Enforcement Unit (MDEU) of the San Jose MPS, and PDEG SOU 4B, at around 4:00pm in Purok 6, Barangay San Roque, San Jose, Occidental Mindoro.
The suspect, identified as alias “Ryan”, 52 years old and a resident of Barangay Ilvita, Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro, was caught after a poseur buyer purchased suspected illegal drugs weighing approximately 0.15 grams for P1,000 pesos.
Authorities recovered the buy-bust money and another plastic sachet of suspected shabu weighing approximately 0.20 grams, valued at P2,400 pesos, from the suspect.
The evidence was marked in the presence of witnesses before being brought to the Occidental Mindoro Provincial Forensic Unit for examination.
The arrested suspect is currently in the custody of the San Jose MPS for the preparation of documents and the filing of charges.
The arrest is a result of the intensified campaign against illegal drugs in the province of Occidental Mindoro, according to police authorities.
