ORIENTAL MINDORO — Dr. Hubbert Atienza Dolor filed his certificate of candidacy for vice governor of Oriental Mindoro province Tuesday morning, citing his commitment to public service and family values.

In his statement posted on Facebook, Dolor, who once considered priesthood, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve.

Dolor, brother of incumbent Gov. Bonz Dolor, revealed that his decision to run stems from his love for family and community.

“Ang aking pagtanggap sa hamon ng positiong Bise-Gobernador ay bilang pagpapahalaga at pagmamahal ko sa pamilya,” he said.

Dolor cited unity across cultural lines, saying, “Lahat tayo ay magkakapatid, katutubo man, tagalog o muslim, tayo ay iisang pamilya binibigkis ng iisang lahi, Mindoreño, Pilipino.”

Reflecting on his past, Dolor shared that at age 18, before leaving Saint Augustine Seminary, he made a promise.

With Doc. Dolor’s filing of COC for the second top post of the province, it appears that incumbent Vice Governor Ejay Falcon’s congressional combat with Cong. Alfonso Umali Jr. is already set in stone.
