Several candidates from Oriental Mindoro filed their certificates of candidacy (COCs) on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, for the May 12, 2025 national and local elections.

Oriental Mindoro First District Congressman Arnan C. Panaligan, Atty. Jojo Perez, who is running for vice governor, and board member aspirants Jocy Neria, RL Leachon, Bong Brucal, and incumbent Calapan City Councilor Charles Pansoy, were among those who filed their COCs.

They were followed by another group of candidates from the Galing at Serbisyo para sa Mindoreño (GSM) party, including board member aspirants Alely Casubuan-Tan, Fay Ilano-Navarro, Calapan City Councilor Jun Panaligan, former board member Ryan Arago, and SP Executive Assistant Miko Atienza for the First District of Oriental Mindoro.

Also filing their COCs were board member bets Atty. Roland Ruga, Atty. Joms Dimapilis, former board member Butch Buenaventura, Bongabong Municipal Councilor Niño Liwanag, and Jigs Talens for the Second District.

Both groups signed a pledge for a clean, honest, and dignified campaign for the 2025 elections.

Notably, Governor Humerlito “Bonz” Dolor, Provincial Administrator Hubbert Dolor, and Vice Governor Ejay Falcon did not file their COCs on Tuesday.

PA Dolor is expected to run as vice-governor while Falcon will seek the 2nd district congressional seat.

Incumbent Governor Bonz Dolor, chairman of GSM Party, might be challenged in the gubernatorial race by two possible contenders: businessman Orven Rabino and Joanna Valencia, daughter of former governor and congressman Rodolfo “RGV” Valencia.

According to the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), the deadline for filing COCs is on October 8, 2024.

Provincial Administrator Dr. Hubbert Dolor, GSM party vice-president (extreme left) and Vice-Gov. Ejay Falcon (extreme right) accompany their board member candidates during the filing of their COCs (certificate of candidacy) at COMELEC today, October 1, 2024.
