The Provincial Health Office of Oriental Mindoro has launched its annual “Bakuna Eskwela” (School Vaccination) campaign, urging parents to have their children immunized against preventable diseases.
The vaccination drive targets students entering Grades 1, 4, and 7, offering protection against Measles, Rubella, Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Human Papillomavirus (HPV).
“This is the ideal time to ensure our children are shielded from vaccine-preventable illnesses,” the PHO said in a statement. “We’re calling on all parents and guardians to play their crucial role in safeguarding their children’s health.”
Health officials noted the importance of vaccinations for public health, particularly as students return to in-person classes following pandemic-related disruptions.
The campaign aligns with the province’s slogan, “Yaman ng Bayan, Lakas ng Kinabukasan” (Wealth of the Nation, Strength of the Future), stressing the link between community health and societal progress.
Parents are advised to visit their nearest health center for more information and to schedule vaccinations.
The Provincial Health Office said they target to achieve high vaccination coverage to prevent potential outbreaks of communicable diseases in schools.
