The leading national political party LAKAS-CMD has formed an alliance with Mindoro Bago Sarili (MBS), the first local party in Oriental Mindoro, officials announced on Sunday.
The alliance was formalized in a signing ceremony attended by LAKAS-CMD Regional Chairman and Oriental Mindoro 1st District Congressman Arnan C. Panaligan and MBS Founding Chairman, former Congressman and Mayor Doy Leachon.
Several Mindoreño officials witnessed the event, including mayors from various municipalities in Oriental Mindoro such as Baco, Naujan, Pola, Socorro, and Victoria.
MBS President and former Vice Governor Jojo Perez was also present, along with other board members.
The alliance brings together LAKAS-CMD’s national influence and MBS’s local roots in Oriental Mindoro. It is expected to strengthen both parties’ positions in the province ahead of the 2025 elections.
Vice Mayor Rommel Rodolfo Ignacio of Calapan City led a delegation of MBS candidates for the city, including incumbent and returning councilors.
Representatives from other municipalities’ slates were also in attendance.
