Law enforcers arrested a suspected street-level drug dealer in a buy-bust operation in Airport Road, Barangay Payompon, Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro province, authorities said Saturday.

The suspect, identified as alias “Rick”, 29, a resident of Airport Road, Barangay Payompon, Mamburao, was apprehended by the Municipal Drug Enforcement Unit of Mamburao PNP, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Occidental Mindoro and the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit of Occidental Mindoro PPO, at around 9:00 pm on September 26, 2024.

According to police, the suspect was caught after selling two packets of suspected shabu to undercover agents posing as buyers for P2,000 pesos.

The suspect is currently under the custody of Mamburao Police Station, and has been charged with violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The arrest was the result of a successful collaboration between the community and the police, and was part of the directive of PCOL Timoteo L. Espiritu, Jr., Provincial Director of Occidental Mindoro Police Provincial Office, to intensify the campaign against illegal drugs in the province.
